★★★★☆
When a copy of The Perfect Stranger arrives on Catherine’s doorstep, she doesn’t think anything of it. But when she starts reading it, she begins to get frightened. This story is about her. Her secret she has kept for all these years, burying it underneath a hectic work schedule and keeping the household running smoothly. But now she knows that someone knows – and they clearly want everyone close to her to know her secret.
Disclaimer is told from multiple characters’ points of view – this gives an awesome insight into the different thoughts and reasonings behind each person’s actions. All of the characters in this book are inherently unlikeable, leaving you rooting for no one but wondering what will come to light next. The story keeps changing. With every paragraph, you learn more and more of what happened, and the ending is not at all what you’d expect.
